The Duck (The Zero’th Post)

A very hesitant yet fun-nervous start to a sneak peak into my photographic travel journey. ‘The Duck’ aka the 0th post is a prelude to photographs that’ll follow and present a slightly different perspective of the world.

Through exploring obscure landscapes of Saudi Arabia, barren lands of Siberia, cityscapes of London and the savannah of Africa, there ran a common feature. The moment I saw a scene through my eyepiece, it formed a film of peace and calm, which allowed me to see every subject in the frame in slow motion and grave detail. This blog will be centred around describing the moment and the experience that led to each photograph. I hope to show you the world through a fresh lens and describe every shot through a unique frame of reference!

Travel, a lot like love, is an addiction, that once you get into is tough to get out. In both cases, you discover a lot more about yourself and the more you explore the more you discover!

Australia and New Zealand was the first time I tasted this sweet poison when I planned an entire itinerary and led a group (well my parents and grandparents but still felt like I was leading a troupe) on the entire tour. It was also the first time I captured a shot I was mildly proud of (although it resulted in an irate bus of tourists, as I had to wait for the duck to get into the frame).

‘The Duck’ casually swam past the gorgeous Kiwi landscape with a creepy guy lying down on a jetty with a Nikon Coolpix patiently waiting for it to get into the frame. Very few sites in the world provide a peaceful and gentle feeling by just being there. Barren acres of mountains, green and sheep (oh sheep so many of them) is what this island is!

  4. Long time supporter, and thought I’d drop a comment.

Your wordpress site is very sleek – hope you don’t mind me asking
what theme you’re using? (and don’t mind if I steal it? :
    P)

I just launched my site –also built in wordpress like yours– but the theme slows (!) the site down quite a bit.

In case you have a minute, you can find it by searching for “royal cbd”
on Google (would appreciate any feedback) – it’s still in the works.

Keep up the good work– and hope you all take care of yourself during the coronavirus
    scare!

    • Hello Justin,

Great to hear from you. I m using a theme called the Revelar, however I have used my own photograph in the background. I will most certainly check royal cbd out. Sounds exciting. I hope you and your entire family are keeping safe during this tough time. Look forward to wonderful posts by you.
